Don’t Know Where to Elope? Spin for Ideas.

One of the best things about eloping is that you can get married almost anywhere. And sometimes, that’s also the problem.

When the possibilities include mountains, deserts, beaches, forests, tiny cabins, treehouses, glamping tents and secluded stays in the middle of nowhere, how do you even begin to choose?

That’s exactly why I created the Travel Spinner on my website. Instead of starting with Where should we get married?, start with something much more fun:

What kind of experience do we want to have?

Maybe you spin and land on a cozy cabin tucked into the mountains. Imagine waking up on your wedding morning to cool mountain air, pulling on your boots and walking outside with coffee in hand before heading off to exchange vows overlooking a valley.

Or maybe it’s a desert stay—warm sun on your skin, red rock glowing at golden hour and dinner beneath a sky filled with stars.

Perhaps your spin takes you toward the ocean, a forest hideaway, a glamping retreat or a completely unexpected corner of the U.S. you hadn’t even considered.

That’s the fun of it. Start spinning!

Your elopement destination doesn’t have to be a wedding venue.

One of my favorite ways to plan an elopement is to find an incredible place to stay first and build the experience around it.

Imagine renting a secluded A-frame in the woods, a glass cabin beneath the stars, a tiny home overlooking the mountains or a beautifully designed retreat somewhere you’ve never been.

Your stay becomes part of the story—not simply somewhere you sleep after the wedding.

Have breakfast together. Explore. Get ready slowly. Exchange vows somewhere nearby. Come back, open a bottle of champagne, sit by the fire and realize:

We actually did this our way!

Give the spinner a whirl

If you’ve been scrolling through hundreds of destinations and still can’t decide where to elope, stop searching for the perfect place for a minute.

Spin instead.

See what comes up. Follow the idea. Let yourself imagine it.

You don’t necessarily have to choose the destination the spinner gives you. The point is to discover something that makes one of you turn to the other and say:

“Wait… what if we actually did that?”

Sometimes that’s all it takes to begin planning an adventure you’ll remember for the rest of your lives.
